Frame fit is so important. The frame needs to be comfortable so your child will wear the glasses. The glasses need to be adjusted to stay in place during all their activities. And, they need to be durable, because kids are so active. Your child will have multiple frames to choose from to find the right fit, style, and durability that is right for them. Fit properly, most frames will fit for about 2 years, and most frames are warrantied for 2 years! If a frame does break, there is a minimal fee to replace it...usually $10-$15. Don't buy glasses for them to grow into...by the time they have grown into them, their rx will have changed and the frame will be worn out.
Even more important than the frames, are the lenses. It is important to have the exact prescription that the doctor orders. It is important to have polycarbonate lenses that will not shatter, are thinner and lighter than regular plastic lenses, have a 100% UVA/UVB filter, and a tough scratch-resistant coating for their rough and tumble play. They may also need an aspheric design if they have a strong rx for better optics and less magnification. If they have a bifocal or progressive lens, the measurement is very important. You can be sure to get the best quality lenses at Eyes For Kids. We also offer a 6 month Dr. prescription change policy for only $10! And, if a lens gets scratched within the year, it is only $15 to replace it!
